Ryan plays four instruments, including saxophone, clarinet, piano, and oboe. In his life, he will be a virtuoso oboist, but for now, he applies his passion towards researching personal finance in order to advise others to make smart decisions, understand money, and create positive impact with wealth. He lives by two great ideas: “Happy people live on less than they earn,” and “Smart people learn from their mistakes; wise people learn from the mistakes of others”. His path to First Pacific started at the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s in Accounting and Master’s in Accounting. He went from there to Silicon Valley as an auditor and then to revenue accounting in San Francisco. Both great jobs, but they were missing the key ingredient that makes his position here the right fit, a client relationship. After spending most of his life in Utah and California, he now enjoys all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer with his wife and four daughters.
